Jessica Dero

What school are you currently attending? Lehigh University
What year will you be starting in the fall? My Junior year
Why did you choose to attend the SENSORS program? I chose to attend the SENSORS program because I thought it was a great opportunity. One I thought I couldn’t give up. I wanted to get a feel for the field of research and find where my interests lie.
Who are you working with, and what research are you doing? I am working in Dr. Noh’s lab with a graduate student, Robert Hart. It is a MEMS lab and my current project pertains to the development and testing of a microchip that is capable of detecting the deformability or rigidity of red blood cells.
What are your goals/aspirations for the future? I am still unsure about the future. I had always had dreams of going to medical school but now I am leaning more towards getting a PHD. I have interest in working in industry before going back to school for my PHD.
