Q: What is your name?
A: Zakiya Carter
Q: What school are you currently attending?
A: Drexel University
Q: What year will you be starting in the fall?
A: Sophomore
Q: Why did you choose to attend the DREAM program?
A: I jumped at the chance to spend the summer performing research.
Q: Who are you working with, and what research are you doing?
A: I am working with Dr. Jonathan Spanier and Jennifer Atchison. We are investigating the co-electrospinning of two optically active polymeric materials with the goals of achieving a core-shell geometry and spinning fibers on the nano-scale.
Q: What are your goals/aspirations for the future?
A: I intend to go on to graduate school to study both electrical and materials engineering. After earning my PhD, I plan to engage in organic semiconductor device and alternative energy research.
